How Microneedling Works
Microneedling is one of the various collagen induction therapies that we offer in our office. It is a minimally invasive resurfacing treatment that induces new collagen formation in the skin to improve overall skin texture and tone leading to a brighter more healthy skin appearance. Results can include improvement in fine lines, scars, pore size, and may also have a positive effect on areas of hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation with evening out skin color. It is one of the most popular in-office procedures among our patients!
As we age, the accumulated years of sun damage, along with other environmental, genetic, and biological factors all play a role in the aged, thinning and damaged appearance of our skin. At the same time, as we age, our ability to generate collagen and other new skin cells decreases. We may notice fine lines, a rougher skin texture, uneven skin tones, larger pore size, and brown spots.
At The Art and Science of Dermatology, we offer a wide array of effective skin rejuvenating treatments, to include Ultherapy, chemical peels, Intense Pulsed Light, photodynamic therapy, and microneedling. Microneedling just may be our most popular given the ease of treatment, short treatment and recovery time, and the quick results that are obtained.
